IRC ABUSE APPEAL PROCESS
If you are reading this then you are currently not allowed to connect to irc.VJTD3.com
The decision to permanently disallow access or to reinstate access will be affected by your choices from the following options:
GOOD CHOICES
1. You decide to contact the IRC Council via E-Mail at IRC at VJTD3 dot com.
2. You decide to join #HelpDesk via the Applet
- This method is only available so that you can explain your view of the events and/or find out the details of a term ban.
- IMPORTANT: Do NOT join any channel besides #HelpDesk during this time. Do not reply to or initiate any PM. (Not even one) You are only allowed to use the applet to deal with your abuse case. It is not an option to bypass the disallowing of your access. You have been warned!! (Except PMs from OPs in #HelpDesk)
3. You are on your best behavior while discussing the problem, regardless of the outcome.
- If you cannot behave in #HelpDesk with people watching you, then you cannot be trusted to act responsibly on the network when out of sight. Users of this caliber are not needed here.
- Also, keep in mind that this is an appeal process of sorts. It should not be assumed that by showing up and behaving, you will be unbanned. All actions are considered but if the original offense is significant enough, no options will be considered.
4. You submit a list of nicks for people who could offer their support as witnesses to the event in question or as character witnesses.
BAD CHOICES
1. You decide to attempt to evade your ban. In cases such as these your ISP may be contacted resulting in the loss of all internet access.
- If you bypass your restricted access in any way that is not allowed, you can safely assume you will be permanently banned at the first opportunity.
2. You decide to whine about being caught and/or place the responsibility of your actions on someone else.
- Pointing fingers of blame or attempting to justify your actions with statements similar to "But so-and-so did it and they only got ____" or "It was so-and-so's fault because they did ____ so I had to do what I did." or "I was only joking around." or my personal favorite "I didn't know it was against the rules." will only make the council less likely to consider your position.
3. You decide to have 1,000 of your closest friends attempt to defend you, whine about the unfairness of your ban, or "ask" what's going on repeatedly in an obvious attempt to harass administration.
- If your friends think they are helping your case by these actions, they need to rethink their position. At the very least it will prolong the punishment. It could make the punishment worse. It could result in your friends being disallowed access as well.
4. You decide to run to the nearest forum and start a thread.
- Threads like this only hurt you and your case, even those started by others about you. If you see a thread about your events, ask an admin to close the thread or post on the thread for them to stop.
NOTE: Abuse cases can result in you being allowed to return only after a verification of who you are. If you are unable or simply refuse to do this then you will not be allowed to return.
